John Weaver Obituary

John H. Weaver, Sr., 67, of West Chester, PA, son of the late S. Carl and Pearl Weaver of Kennett Square, went to his heavenly home on July 2, 2006. Surviving John is his wife of 43 years, Diana L. Cordivano Weaver; a daughter, Carla J. Piper of West Chester; a son, John H. Weaver, Jr. of Marietta, PA; a son, David L. Weaver also of West Chester; a sister, Shirley M. Altizer of Downingtown; a brother, James R. Weaver of Ardmore, PA; and two grandsons, John H., III and David James Weaver. John was an appraiser at Travelers Insurance Co. in Wilmington, DE for 28 years, retiring in 1991. In addition to enjoying his family and friends, John was an avid race car enthusiast and was owner, driver and pit crew of several drag race cars in the past 30 years. He was an official member of NHRA (National Hot Rod Association) holding a license to drive and participate in all NHRA events in the area. Both of his sons were active with John in his passion for racing and will continue to carry his love as they will continue his goal of seeing the win light at the end of the track. Family and friends are invited to attend John�s graveside service at 9:30 AM on Thursday, July 6, 2006 at Longwood Cemetery, Route 1 and Greenwood Rd., Kennett Square, PA. Contributions may be made in his memory to the National Marfan Foundation, 22 Manhassett Ave., Port Washington, NY 11050.
