John Weber Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Schmidt & Schulta Funeral Home - Wittenberg on Dec. 30, 2025.
John C. Weber, 72, of Wittenberg, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at his home.
John was born on October 27, 1953, in Fond du Lac, the son of Claude and Florence (Zelten) Weber.
John held various jobs throughout his life, working as the director for Calumet County Campground, Homme Youth and Family Programs and most recently, sold his woodworking designs at shows.
John was a man deeply connected to the natural world and to the people around him. He found joy and meaning in the outdoors, where he felt closest to nature and delighted in sharing its quiet miracles and generous gifts with others.
John was a skilled and passionate outdoorsman. He was an avid skier and served on ski patrol. He loved rock climbing, ropes courses, and the art of rope work, taking pride in tying knots and mastering hands-on-skills. Hunting, woodworking, and time spent in his barn or workshop brought him contentment, as did reading a good book after a long day.
A devoted Green Bay Packers fan, John carried his enthusiasm and loyalty into many areas of his life. More importantly, he carried a deep commitment to people-especially troubled youth. John worked as Director of Adventure Base at Homme Youth and Family Programs for many years. Through his work and mentorship, John encouraged others to be their best selves. He was a strong yet gentle leader, a thoughtful listener, and a steady source of guidance for those who needed it most.
John is survived by two sisters, Carol Weber and Jean Weber; special Aunt, Mary Ellen LaComte; special friends, Bonnie Anderson and Mark Steinbach; and many cousins, other relatives and friends.
John was preceded in death by his parents.
Per John's request, no formal services will be held at this time. A Celebration Gathering to remember John will be held at a later date.
