John Wildesen

John William Wildesen, 80, of Uniontown, Maryland died Monday, August 12, 2024 at home surrounded by family. Born July 9, 1944 in Elkins West Virgina he was the son of the late William Hall Wildesen and Carma Bazzle Wildesen. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Carol Ann Wildesen. John graduated from Southern Garrett High School and the University of Maryland College of Agriculture. He began his work career as the 4H Extension Agent in Carroll County. He then worked as a realtor for almost 40 years working for Coldwell Banker, Glen Falls Realty and Berkshire Hathaway Homesale Realty. In addition to selling real estate, John enjoyed finding and restoring antiques; and was most passionate about breeding, raising and showing livestock. Besides his wife, he is survived by two children, Justin Carter Wildesen of Uniontown, MD and Jennifer Wildesen Henley (Kevin) of Winfield, MD, and two grandchildren, Kolt and McKenna Henley. He was predeceased by his brother Charles Thomas Wildesen. The family will receive friends on Monday, August 19, 2024 from 5-7 p.m. at the Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 East Main Street, Westminster, MD. Memorial services will begin at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Deacon Don Myers of Grace Lutheran Church officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Carroll County Fair, PO Box 97, Westminster, MD 21157 or the Maryland State Fair Livestock Fund, 2200 York Rd, Timonium, MD 21093 in memory of John.
