John “Jack” Wilmet,84, of De Pere, passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2025. John was born on October 12, 1941, to Alvin and Magdalen (Vanden Heuvel) Wilmet and grew up in De Pere. He graduated from West De Pere High School and remained a proud member of the community throughout his life.
On July 21, 1962, John married the love of his life, Marlene Langenfeld, in De Pere. Together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and family.
John was meat salesman his entire life. John enjoyed simple pleasures like visiting the casino, playing cards, and spending cherished time with his granddaughter, Brooke. His faith and service were important to him, he was a longtime usher at Our Lady of Lourdes and dedicated many years to the Knights of Columbus, where he served as treasurer and proudly rose to the rank of Grand Knight. He also shared countless good times with friends as a member of the Pine Snakes Poker Club.
John will be remembered for his kindness, devotion to family, and the friendships he nurtured throughout his life.
John is survived by his loving wife, Marlene, his children; John J. (Gwen) Wilmet, Debbie (Scott) Marchant, Doug (Amy) Wilmet. Further survived by his grandchildren, Brooke Marchant, Cassidy (Dan) Skaleski, Tauna (Brad)Vaughn, Joel (Sam) Lemerond and six great-grandchildren; Tessa, Addison, Scarlet, Violet, Lydia and Ellie.
John is preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Laurie Wilmet, six sisters; Shirley Wilmet, Cathy Baylie, Joan (William) Krueser, Mary (David) Knoll Mary (Dan) Stencil, and Cathy (Robert) Besaw, two brothers; Robert (Bonnie) Wilmet, and Richard” Whitey” Wilmet , father-in-law and mother-in-law; Claude and Angeline Langenfeld, brothers-in-law; Henry (Claudette) Cleereman.
Family and Friends may gather at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 1305 Lourdes Ave in De Pere, WI on Thursday, December 11 from 11:00am to 12:45pm followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 1:00pm with Fr. James Baraniak, O.Praem presiding. Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, De Pere. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in John’s name.
