Well, I too as one of the Hubbell family need to express my admiration for Mr. Wredling. I graduated from STC in 1976.....along with Mr. Wredling's daughter Kris! And my father, Dick Hubbell, knew Mr. Wredling well and always spoke highly of his character and ability. He truly made STC a superior place to learn and live.

And one more story. In 1968, I was in 5th grade at Richmond elementary. I got in a fight at recess with Jimmy Horton (my neighbor) and we decided to finish it after school across the street off school grounds - front lawn of the Baptist church! Well, I would like to tell you that I was whipping Jimmy's butt........but that was not the case! A large number of grade school kids circled around our "fighting ring" for the big show! Well, about half way through the whipping, Mr. Wredling drove by on his way home and saw what was happening. He pulled his car over, got out, and pulled Jimmmy Horton and Brian Hubbell apart - gave us a slight spank and told us "to get home"....and we did! Jimmy and I are best of friends to this day.....and Mr. Wredling knew exactly how to handle the situation.

God bless him. I'm sure he's in Heaven today visiting with my father.

Mr. Wredling taught me a valueable lesson when I was a 3rd grader. I'll never forget it and it's always served me well. I was no trouble maker, but he made me understand the value of what to do if trouble was to head my way and how to handle it. He truly was an insipiration to all of us. My god, he was 62 years old when he gave me the advice!!! Tom Hubbell, son of Dick Hubbell

My father, Dick Hubbell, spoke so highly of Mr. Wredling. Those of us that attended St. Charles schools were blessed to have his leadership. We received a first class education because of the dedication of the teachers and the administration led by John Wredling. What an inspiration to all. Kay Hubbell
