Barbara Pannell Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Wilkerson Funeral Home - De Queen on Dec. 27, 2025.
Barbara June Pannell, age 72, a resident of Umpire, Arkansas, passed away on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at her home.
Barbara was born on July 7, 1953, in Sacramento, California. She was a member of the Dierks Church of Christ. Barbara's greatest joy was having her family and being there for her friends and community. Once her children were in school, she realized her love of teaching children, so she pursued a teaching career. In 1993, she was the first in her family to graduate from college with an art degree and teaching certificate. In 1994, she started teaching in Mineral Springs. In 2001, she moved to Umpire. She received a Master's Degree in Library Media Specialist and taught for over 20 years. She was able to end her teaching career at the same school as her daughter. She led a very blessed life, and through all of her trials, her faith never wavered.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Ray Pannell; her parents, Bonnie Holland Blanton and Joe Blanton; her father, Anthony Richard Fiorelli; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mirtie and Jeff Pannell.
She is survived by one daughter, Victoria Lynn Pannell of Dierks, Arkansas; one son and daughter-in-law, Joseph Richard "Joey" Pannell and wife Krystal of Glenwood, Arkansas; three grandchildren, Justin Thomas Pannell, Jackson Grant Pannell, and Kassidy Nicole Pannell; three sisters, Sandra Granger, Dawn Martin, and Toni Walthour and a host of nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.
A private family Memorial service will be held at a later date.
