John Arthur Wright

On March 9, 2023, John Arthur Wright, 97, of Glen Arm, Maryland passed away. John was born in California, Pennsylvania (Washington County) and graduated from East Pike Run High School in 1943. Mr. Wright was selected for the Army Air Corps and served during WWII in the Pacific Theater on the Island of Morotai in the 13th Air Force, 307th Bomb Group and 424th Squadron. He was discharged from active duty in 1946. John met his wife Marjorie Crouch during college, and they married on August 8, 1950.
John enjoyed his career as an Industrial Arts (Woodshop) teacher in Baltimore County and woodworking over the years making furniture and toys. He also enjoyed playing golf and was active in the VFW Post 9083 Golf Club and in the American Legion Post 183 Balladeers.
John was the beloved husband of the late Marjorie C. Wright (nee Crouch); devoted father of Mary Elizabeth Wright, Carol W. Bowers (husband David), and Betty L. Kreder; caring grandfather of Lisa Kreder.
Family and friends will honor and celebrate John's life at the family-owned Evans Life Celebration Home - 8800 Harford Road, Parkville, MD 21234 on Sunday, March 12, 2023 from 3-5 PM and 7-9 PM. A funeral service will be held at Evans Parkville on Monday, March 13, 2023 at 11:00 AM. Interment: Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens.
