John Robert Wrightsman

John Robert Wrightsman, 84, of Spencer, passed away on August 25, 2014 at IU Health Bloomington Hospital. He was born in Brown County, Indiana on March 1, 1930 to Orville And Effie (Bradley) Wrightsman. He was a US Navy Veteran. John was retired as a guard at RCA, drove for Bob Cowden Trucking and then started Wrightsman Trucking. Most recently he was employed by Valley Chevrolet. He enjoyed his dogs, Spanky and Jamie and spending time with his family. Mr. Wrightsman was a member of the Spencer American Legion. John is survived by his wife, Sue (Boruff) Wrightsman; children, Kenneth (Debbie) Wrightsman of Spencer, Keith (Cindy) Wrightsman of Farmersburg, Betty (Van) Lehman of Owensburg and Shirley (Dude) Bandy of Spencer; stepdaughters, Teresa (Jim) Thacker of Ellettsville and Cheryl (JR) Brewer of Cataract; brother, Albert "Bud" Wrightsman of Statesville, NC; sisters, Emogene Stevens, Velma Callahan and Alice Owens all of Bloomington, Mary Brady of Gainesville, Fl and Doris Trotter of Claremont, Fl; 16 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Clifford, Charles, James, Bill and Orville, Jr., Wrightsman. Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M., Thursday, August 28, 2014 at West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home. Dr. Allan Lewis will officiate. Burial will follow at Chambersville Cemetery where Military graveside rites will be provided by the Spencer VFW and American Legion. Visitation will be 4-8 P.M.
