John Heath Wycough "Waki", 53, of Ramseur formerly of Climax, died Thursday, September 26, 2024 at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro.
Funeral Services, 2:00 PM, Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at Ramseur Wesleyan Church, Ramseur.
Officiating, Rev. Michael Thames.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
John was born in Brinkley, Arkansas and was a longtime resident of Climax, NC. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Asheboro and employed as an artist with Marvel Comics, Image Comics, Dark Horse Comics, and IDW Publishing. He loved going to Comic Con events, meeting with his friends and fans. John was an avid comic collector and he loved to play drums during "AWE" worship services at First Baptist Church in Asheboro. John was preceded in death by his parents, John Perry and Ruthie Thompson Wycough.
Survivors: sisters, Sandra Albright (Lawrence, Sr.), of Ramseur, Pam Wheatley, of Randleman, brother, Britt Wheatley (Karen), of Grays Chapel, nieces and nephews, Lawrence "Scooter" Albright, David Albright, Cassie Wheatley, Britt Wheatley, Jr., Shannon Phillips, Michael Moore and his beloved dog, Suzy.
Visitation, 12:30 to 1:45 PM, Tuesday, Ramseur Wesleyan Church, Ramseur.
