John Frank Yudt, Jr.

John F. Yudt, Jr., 86, of Lockport, passed away Sunday, January 5, 2025 surrounded by his family.

Beloved husband of Marilyn (Harnisch), father of David (Angela) Yudt, Karen Pintoy, and Kenneth Yudt, and cherished grandfather of John and Shawn Yudt, Jenny, Erik (Maddie), and Keith Pintoy, and Alyssa Yudt.

Preceded in death by his parents Hannah Ahlfeld and John F. Yudt Sr. and brother Richard Yudt.

John was born in Chicago on October 19, 1938. He was a 1956 graduate of Luther South High School and served in the United States Army from 1959 to 1961. John spent his career working for Western Electric as an inventory specialist. He retired in 1990 from Lucent Technologies (formerly Western Electric) and later returned to the workforce as a receiving clerk at Edward Don where he retired once again in 2001.

His retirement years were spent enjoying time with his family, bowling, playing board games and cards, serving at his church, and singing in the choir.

John will be remembered for his unwavering faith, love for his family, and commitment to his church and community. His presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the many lives he touched.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at Shepherd of the Hill Lutheran Church, 925 E. 9th Street, Lockport, IL.

Visitation will be from 9am to 11am with church service immediately following.
