John Zekich

John Zekich 86, of New Lenox, formerly of Calumet City, passed away December 22, 2014. John was born in Chicago to the late Joseph and Marija (nee Begovic) Zekich. Beloved husband of Florence S. (nee Ciebiera); Loving father of Deborah (Steven Tempel) Zekich, MarySue Zekich, Lisa (Erich) Stefans, Tina (Tony Gaik) Zekich; Cherished Apa of Mitchell, Nick, Jake, Josh, Taylor, WenLi, Anthony and Colton; Dear brother of Dawn "Zorka" (Richard) Kern, Eleanor (the late Paul) Bonoma, the late Nick Zekich and the late Joe (the late Jeanne) Zekich; Fond uncle of numerous nieces and nephews. John was a retired Supervisor from People's Gas. He was a U.S. Army Korean War Veteran, a member American Legion People's Gas Post #336, former Officer of the Whiting Seniors Club and a member of The Golden Times in Hammond, IN. Family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, IL 60423 on Sunday, December 28, 2014 from 3-9 PM. Funeral Monday, December 29, 2014 with chapel prayers at 10:45 AM to St. Jude Catholic Church, 214 W. 2nd St., New Lenox, IL 60451 for a 11:30 AM Mass of Christian Burial. Interment Good Shepherd Cemetery, Orland Park, IL.
