Johnnie Lee Drake, 72, a cherished father, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 27, 2025, at the North MS Medical Center in Tupelo. Born on September 21, 1953, Johnnie lived a life that touched many, embodying kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for his family.
Johnnie was predeceased by his parents, Herman Drake, Sr. and Mary Metcalf Drake, who laid the foundation of love and resilience that defined his life.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Era Faye Drake, and six devoted children: three sons, Lance Drake, Dequann Drake, and Eddie Heard, and three daughters, Sherrie Drake, Katina Williams, and Veronica Dawson, who carry forward his legacy of compassion and strength. Johnnie's love for his children was immeasurable, and he was deeply proud of the individuals they had become.
In honor of his life, a visitation will be held at Belle Memorial Funeral Home in Aberdeen, Mississippi, on Friday, November 7, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM. This will be followed by a Celebration of Life at the same location on Saturday, November 8, 2025, starting at 1:00 PM. Family and friends are invited to come together during this time to share memories, celebrate his legacy, and find comfort in each other’s company.
Johnnie Lee Drake is remembered not only for his dedication to his family but also for the warmth and laughter he brought into the lives of those around him. His spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
