Johnny Anderson Jr., 72, of Jonesboro, passed away at his home on October 27, 2025. Johnny was born in Tyronza on June 10, 1953, to the late Richetta and Johnny Anderson Sr. In addition to his parents, Johnny is preceded in death by his son, Benjamin Anderson; sisters, Margie and Mary Anderson; and brothers, Larry and Bobby Anderson.
Johnny was a brilliant man who graduated high school at sixteen. After graduating, he spent four years in the United States Air Force. During his time there, Johnny acquired skills that would serve him for the rest of his life. After serving his country, he took a job with DuPont, which allowed him to travel across the country and eventually settle in Houston, TX. After thirty years, Johnny retired to his hometown of Jonesboro. He enjoyed fishing, being on his boat, grilling, and traveling. Most importantly, Johnny cherished the time he spent with his family.
Johnny is survived by his son, Jonathan Anderson; daughter, Latosha Anderson; sisters, Delorestine Anderson-Lasley, Earnestine Anderson, and Martha Anderson; grandchildren, Jade Anderson, Drake Anderson, Jordan Anderson, Tristian Babin, and Draylen Babin; nephew, Landron Lasley Jr; niece, Jamie Anderson; great-niece, Kylie Banks; and a host of relatives and friends to keep his loving memory in our hearts.
A memorial service is scheduled at Emerson Funeral Home on November 5, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. A visitation will take place beforehand from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Burial will be private.
The family would like to thank everyone for their calls, texts, visitations, and all acts of kindness in their time of need. And a special thank you to Reverend Ray Scales and the United States Air Force for their services.
