Johnny Larry Brandon, 82, of Memphis, TN, passed away on September 23, 2025, at Baptist East Memorial Hospital in Memphis, TN.

Johnny was born June 1, 1943, in Waldo Arkansas to the late Johnnie and Mabelle (Morris) Brandon. He retired from the United States Navy and made the highest rank an enlisted man could make as Chief Warrant Officer. He also worked in sales for Texas Instruments and retired from that career as well. He moved to Memphis later in life to live near his daughter. He was known to friends as John and enjoyed judging BBQ competitions in Memphis. To his dear family, he was known as Larry, and he loved spending time with them during family vacations. He cherished the Sunday telephone calls with his sisters that went on for years.

John is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Brandon of Memphis, TN; sister and brother-in-law, Judy (Brandon) and Billy Martin of Wynne, Arkansas; two nieces, Lee Ann (Askew) Strunk of Copper Canyon, TX and Missy Martin of Little Rock, AR; and a host of extended family and friends.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation Wednesday, October 1, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. in Magnolia. A private family graveside will be Thursday, October 2, at 10:00 a.m. at the Waldo Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
