Johnny Lee Brennan, 70, of White Oak, NC passed away on Monday, November 13, 2023, while at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville. He was born in Bladen County, the son of the late Levi Brennan and Mary Lou Hall Brennan.
Johnny was a sincere, hardworking man. He worked for 30 years with International Paper and several years with B & K Coastal. He was affectionately known by most as “Johnny B. Good” and folks just loved to conversate with him. He enjoyed fishing but his passion was hunting. He loved nothing better than to be out on a chilly fall morning waiting on a deer to cross his path. Johnny loved a good plate of seafood at Dale’s in Whiteville, spending time with his family and lounging with his little fur pal, Candy. He will be missed for his quick wit and his grand sense of humor.
Johnny was preceded in death by not only his parents, but also an infant sister, Linda Kay Brennan, brothers Edgar and Eldridge Brennan, and one sister LaRue Lentz. Left to cherish his memory are siblings, Lester Brennan of Elizabethtown, Hannah Schmidt (Ronnie) of New Jersey, and Betty Smith of White Oak, his fur baby “Candy”, best friends, Nicole and Kelvin Flanery and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 2-3 pm on Monday, November 20, 2023 at Bladen Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown followed by a funeral service at 3:00 pm with the Reverend Leon Warren officiating. Burial will follow the services in the White Oak Baptist Church Cemetery in White Oak, NC.
