Mr. Johnny Wayne Dillihay, age 72, of Panama City, FL formerly of Franklin, KY, passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2022 at the Ascension Health Hospital in Panama City, FL.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 7th, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will continue on Friday, July 8th, 2022 from 6:00 AM until 10:00 AM. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:00 AM at the funeral home with burial to follow in Sulphur Spring Cemetery in Simpson County, KY.
Johnny was born on October 3, 1949 in Russellville, KY to the late, Johnny Harvey Dillihay and Sarah Alice (Anderson) Dillihay of Franklin, KY, whom survives. He is also survived by 1 daughter Beth Wright (Greg) of Franklin, KY; 2 grandsons, Austin Wright (Evelyn) of Bowling Green, KY and Colin Wright of Bowling Green, KY; 4 siblings, Shirley Dondiego (Michael) of Las Vegas, NV, Debbie Webb (Roger) of Franklin, KY, Gary Dillihay (Judy) of Franklin, KY and Barry Dillihay (Cindy) of Franklin, KY; and several nieces and nephews.
Johnny formerly attended Adairville Baptist Church in Adairville, KY. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp. and he served in the VietNam War. Johnny was a former factory laborer and after moving to Panama City, FL he did maintenance for a hotel there.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Friends of the Shelter, P.O. Box 910, Franklin, KY 42135-0910. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
