WEEP NOT FOR ME


Do not weep for me when I no longer dwell among the wonders of the earth; for my larger self is free, and my soul rejoices on the other side of pain...on the other side of darkness.

Do not weep for me, for I am a ray of sunshine that touches your skin, a tropical breeze upon your face, the hush of joy within your heart and the innocence of babes in mothers arms.

I am the hope in a darkened night. And, in your hour of need, I will be there to comfort you. I will share your tears, your joys, your fears, your disappointments and your triumphs.

Do not weep for me, for I am cradled
in the arms of God. I walk with the angels, and hear the music beyond the stars.

Do not weep for me, for I am within you;
I am peace, love, I am a soft wind that caresses the flowers. I am the calm that follows a raging storm. I am an autumns leaf that floats among the garden of God, and I am pure white snow that softly falls upon your hand.

A while back I had the opportunity of a lifetime to meet and spend sometime with Mr. Johnny Grant also known as “The Honorary Mayor of Hollywood, California” during a program that I helped out with at Wayne Community College located in Goldsboro, North Carolina. I will always remember Mr. Grant for being a very nice and polite person.

Johnny, Thank you for believing in Hollywood long after many depearted. Thank you for also spearheading Hollywood's comeback.

As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life’s routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends.

How very sad I am to learn of your passing, Mr. Grant. Whenever one thinks of Hollywood one thinks of you. You will be always missed but never forgotten. May you rest in peace, sir.

My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories of Johnny bring you comfort. Time heals.

Whatever Hollywood is today is because of Johnny's unshaking belief that it could somehow return to lustre of its glory days.
Johnny was kindest most genuine man I've ever known. Always UP, he could lift anyone from the deepest doldrums. I can't comprehend a world without him.
To the 1 or 2 negatives of the hundreds who praised him. I can only say that he was a great American who dedicated his life to making others happy. I knew him nearly 50 years and he respected all people and never judged whether you had riches or rags. His style was his own and he is irreplaceable in a town which often tosses everything away.

I shall miss you, dear Johnny, and I will treasure your memory always.

I will always remember your laugh, your jokes, and your loving smile. Your star is in heaven now shining on the other stars on the Walk of Fame.

Mr. Grant,
Sir, I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country-first when you served in the U.S. Army during WW II and secondly for all the trips you took overseas with the USO to help entertain our troops. I also enjoyed seeing you on the numerous documentaries about Hollywood or other actors.

Thanks for your Military Service and your Entertainment of the Troops.

Johnny Grant brought a USO troup to Keesler Air Base in Mississippi in the early 50's during the Korean War and I've never forgotten the happiness he brought with him.
May God bless and embrace you in your eternal life Johnny!!!!!

Mr. Grant was Mr. Hollywood for sure. If everyone on this planet had his flavor, the world would be a better place. Thanks Johnny.
