Johnny Grehan Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Memorial Park Funeral Home & Cemetery on Jan. 24, 2024.
John Henry Grehan, III
(Affectionately known as "Johnny", "Savage", and "Old Goat")
Born October 2, 1940 in Selma, AL
Died January, 17, 2024 in Memphis, TN
He and his wife, Carol resided in Bartlett, TN
Johnny was a graduate of Christian Brothers High School and attended Christian Brothers College. He was a Naval Reservist for 6 years. He was employed by International Harvester-Navistar for 44 years.
He loved to fish, hunt deer and ducks. He loved water skiing and snow skiing in his younger years, but his favorite hobby was scuba diving.
He loved all dogs and all dogs loved him.
Johnny was a great man with a big personality that brightened any room. He was blessed to have had many longtime friends who have all stayed close. Everyone who knew Johnny knew he enjoyed a good scotch!
Johnny was married to the love of his life, Carol Marberry Grehan for 35 years and they were together for 44 years. God gave Johnny and Carol one of the greatest blessings of true love. It was very obvious to everyone who knew them both. That is something so powerful that some never find.
Johnny is survived by his wife Carol Marberry Grehan, two daughters, Heather Brown (Whit) of Atlanta, GA, and Stephanie Grehan (Greg) of Memphis, TN, two grandsons, Benjamin Brown and William Brown.
He leaves two sisters, Barbara Curtin, (Gary), Patricia Grehan and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; John H Grehan, Jr and Jeanette Lucchesi Grehan.
Johnny will be deeply missed by so many.
A Funeral Mass for Johnny will be held on Monday, January 29, 2024 at 10:00am at St. Louis Catholic Church. The family will receive friends for visitation on Sunday, January 28, 2024 from 4:00pm to 6:00 at Memorial Park Funeral Home.
