Johnny William Hoffman, born on September 2, 1933, in Parks, Arkansas, passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, in Fort Worth, Texas. Johnny lived a life full of love, family, and strong community ties.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 9, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at White's Chapel of Memories located at 130 Houston Avenue, Weatherford, Texas.
A funeral service will follow on Monday, November 10, 2025, starting at 1:00 PM, also at White's Chapel of Memories.
Interment will be at Memory Gardens of the Valley, 5600 Mineral Wells Hwy., Weatherford.
After graduating from Jayton High School, where he excelled as a star basketball player, Johnny pursued further education for a few years at Pueblo Community College in Colorado. He later went to work for the Santa Fe Railroad, following in his grandfather’s footsteps. Johnny was drafted into the Army in 1952, where he proudly served for three years and was in the Army Reserve for several years as well. Upon returning to civilian life, he resumed his job at the Railroad and continued to work there for 33 years.
Johnny was a dedicated member of the North Side Baptist Church for many years, enjoying the fellowship until they transitioned to listening to services using an iPad. He was an ardent supporter of Texas Tech sports, often known to follow every player on the team closely. His passions also included fishing and attending Weatherford College sports events through the Booster Club.
Throughout his life, Johnny was known for his kind spirit and positive attitude. Those who knew him would attest that they never heard him curse or speak an unkind word. His warmth and genuine nature left a lasting impact on everyone around him.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Vida Sue Hoffman; and his sister, Cecilia Hoffman Preston.
Johnny was a devoted husband to his beloved wife of 66 years, Frankilene Arnett Hoffman. He is also survived by his sister, Mary Elizabeth Hoffman George; and his many nieces and nephews, Kevin George, Teresa George, Rick George, and Karen Schnitker; along with numerous extended family members and friends.
Johnny William Hoffman will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know him.
