It is with great sadness we announce that Allah SWT has taken our beloved Johnny Shabazz back to Him.
Johnny Daniel Holland passed away peacefully on November 17, 2024.
Born on November 28, 1936 in Brundidge, Alabama, Johnny was the beloved son of the late Lucille Griffin and Archie Holland. At the young age of seventeen, he courageously left Brundidge and moved to Newark, New Jersey where he converted to Islam. After converting to Islam, he took on the name, Johnny Shabazz, but many who knew him affectionately referred to him as "Brother John." B other Jo / was a dedicated Muslim.
Known for his kindness, compassion, and dedication, Johnny was a faithful member of Islam for many years and lived his life by the principles of Islam. Always ready to lend a helping hand and offer words of comfort to whomever needed it. Additionally, he was an affectionate, dedicated, and hardworking individual who always put the needs of others ahead of his own. Known for his compassionate nature, giving spirit, and witty sense of humor, Johnny's personality brought warmth and joy to everyone he came in contact with.
Johnny is survived by his loving wife of (50) years, Betty Shabazz. He was the loving father to his children, Karen "Denise" Frazier, Kenneth Holland, Andrea Stwart, Angela Hinton, Khalifah Shabazz-Charles and Akbaf Daniels; his grandchildren, Tiffany Frazier, Michael Frazier, Angelique Winfield, Mercedes Wright, Alexis Hinton, Mecca Stewart, Zaire Stewart, Al-Sateef Jamere Gaines, Alise Justine Gaines and Justice Shabazz-Charles, as well as a host of great grandchildren and other loving family and friends.
