In Loving Memory of Johnny Howell
September 12, 2025 | Age 77
Johnny Howell, 77, of Rochester, New York, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2025. Born in Sherwood, NY, Johnny spent most of his life in Rochester, where he was raised on Kron Street in the vibrant 19th Ward—a neighborhood that shaped his values and spirit.
It was there, in the heart of the community, that Johnny met the love of his life, Carol Howell (Geraci). Together, they shared 53 devoted years and raised three sons—Christopher, Robert, and Stephen—building a life rooted in love, resilience, and family.
A proud graduate of West High School and a U.S. Army veteran, Johnny embodied the strength and humility of a blue-collar worker. He dedicated many years to his craft, and for the last 15 years, he brought warmth and care to the Wegmans Bakery in Chili, where he was known for his steady hands and kind heart.
Johnny was an avid golfer and a longtime member of a local golfing league. He found joy on the course with friends and family, often bringing his young grandson along to share the game he loved. His patience and gentle guidance were among his most admirable traits. He also enjoyed the occasional late-night trip to the casino with Carol, playing the penny machines—where he once won one of his prized possessions, a red Jeep Wrangler.
Johnny will be remembered for his quiet strength, unwavering loyalty, and the simple joys he found in everyday life. His legacy lives on in the stories shared by family, friends, and neighbors who were lucky enough to know him.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Carol; sons Christopher (Ashley), Robert (Alisha), and Stephen (Abigail); and eight cherished grandchildren—Alexis, Luke, Brooklyn, Brynlee, Harper, Huxley, Amelia, and Brooks.
