Johnny, a WF Dykes HS Atlanta graduate, always stood by America’s Veterans.
We knew this well, again and again, as he encouraged my business partner ,Ted Daywalt (also deceased), to continue forth with the vision of creating and expanding VetJobs, the nation’s leading job board for Veterans leaving tours of national service for return to a welcoming American workforce. All Veterans thank you, Johnny. You were special to us and you will always be remembered.

For many years, I worked with a wonderful lady who was a cousin of Mr. Isakson. She was so proud of him, and loved him so very much. I am truly sorry for this family’s loss.

My heart goes out to your family. I met Johnny in 1986 when launching KNOWAtlanta magazine which showcased Atlanta to newcomers. No one could have been more helpful in giving me ideas of how the magazine might be constructed to help families moving to Atlanta. For over 20 years he was always welcoming and supportive.
He was a champion of our State and a lovely gentleman.
He will be missed.

Johnny was a great patriot and personal friend of my family. I grew up campaigning for him with my mom, Shirley Vennel. Those were some of the best memories of my childhood. Johnny took the time in his busy schedule in Washington to attend my mother’s funeral in 2010. I will always remember his kindness and willingness to help our family at such a difficult time. My prayers go out to Dianne and the rest of his family. He is surely surrounded by greatness in the heavens of our Father.

Johnny and I have known each other for many years, he was a very inspiring person. From the days he was a branch manger for Northside Realty on Roswell Rd to the days he took over from Dad Ed, he was fair, honest and a gentleman. He served our state proudly and tried to work across the isle in government. He will be greatly missed.

Johnny Isakson was a very kind and compassionate man. He helped my husband and I through a very difficult situation, Not only did he send letters are we have, but checked in frequently with us to see where we were going with OK. He and Senator Chambless were both incredible. My condolences to his family. He will be much missed.

I'm a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran. I contacted Senator Isakson as Chairman of the Committee on Veterans' Affairs. I was concerned that changes being considered at the time could have adversely affected health care provided at VA Hospitals. I use the facilities at the West Haven CT VA Medical Center regularly, and I get excellent care. Senator Isakson's reply indicated that he took the time to read everything I wrote, shared my concern, and thanked me for providing input.
I'm very sorry for your loss.
Sincerely,
Tom Gibbons
