John Kieffer Obituary

John W Kieffer

John W. Kieffer, 78, of Arlington, passed away Friday, October 3, 2025, at Blanchard Valley Hospital. He was born in Findlay, February 12, 1947, to Warren G. and Maria G. (Cammarata) Kieffer. John was a 1966 graduate of Findlay High School. He entered the U.S. Army, where he served his country proudly. On May 30, 1967, he married Deborah L. VanAtta and she preceded him in death July 31, 2019. John is survived by two sons, John A. Kieffer of North Carolina and James Kieffer of Arlington; brother, Dennis (Pam) Kieffer of Covington, Louisiana; and five grandchildren, Brennan, Chloe, Benjamin, William and Saffi Kieffer.

He was preceded in death by two daughters, Brandi and Tracey Kieffer and a sister, Ida Manley.

John retired from Hancor, where he worked for many years. He loved the outdoors and served as a camp caretaker for Camp Glen for many years. Mr. Kieffer was known worldwide as the Runescape Grandpa.

Services for John will begin at 1 p.m. Friday, October 10, 2025, at Crates Funeral Home, Arlington, where the family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until time of service. Burial will be at a later date in Arlington Cemetery.
