Johnny Dale Lasley, age 73, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 22, 2025, in Louisville, Kentucky. Born on May 2, 1952, to Percy and Sylvia Lasley. Born and raised in Shivley it was important to him he be laid to rest here too.
Johnny's heart belonged to his family, the legacy he cherished most in life. Johnny is preceded in death by his parents, Percy Lasley and Sylvia Powell Lasley.
Johnny is survived by his 2 sons, Chris Lasley and Jeff Lasley (Amanda); 6 grandchildren, Chasity Childress (Jerry), Samantha Acree (Matt), Hayden Lasley, Noah Lasley, Sidney Lasley, and Wyatt Lasley; 7 great-grandchildren, JoLee, Nickles, Braydon, Kalani, Reagan, Cash, and Delilah; and 1 sister, Jackie “Missy” Lenihan.
Johnny graduated from Butler High School, where he lettered in Track carried the pride of being a Butler Bear.
He loved to drive and had an ability to navigate any road, always knowing the quickest or sometimes the slowest way home.
John found peace and purpose in living off grid. He took pride in teaching his family how to garden and live off the land, passing down skills that will continue to serve generations to come.
He was, at heart, a good ol’ country boy — rugged, and he showed up as he was no filter. He deeply loved his parents and was a bit of a mommas boy. He enjoyed most, a cold beer and the sound of gunfire in the woods with his sons.
His memory will forever live on in the gardens grown and stories told by his children grandchildren and great-grand children. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
A funeral service will be held for Mr. Johnny Lasley will be held at 2:00 PM, on Friday, June 27, 2025, at Louisville Memorial Gardens West, 4400 Dixie Highway, Louisville, Kentucky. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Entombment will follow the funeral service.
