Johnny C. Philyaw

Johnny C. Philyaw, 85, of Dawsonville passed away Tuesday, October 28, 2025 at his residence following an extended illness.
Born December 4, 1939 to the late Oren and Stella Philyaw of Tate, GA, he lived most of his life in Dawson County. After serving in the U. S. Navy, and working at Southern Railroad, he then went to work at Lockheed Martin, where he retired.
Johnny enjoyed sports, fox hunting, working with his hands and spending time with his family. He was a member of Amicalola Baptist Church. Also preceding him in death are his son in law, Doug Vadner; and brothers, Jim Philyaw and Bill Philyaw.
Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Eulalie Ledbetter Philyaw, Dawsonville; daughters and son in law, Connie Vadner, Dawsonville, Wanda and Ron Grice, Social Circle, Andrea Phillips, Dawsonville; grandchildren, Jonathan Jordan, Adam Grice, Colby and Amber Denard, Anna and Austin Williams, David Ford; great grandchildren, Jocelyn Jordan, Anderson Williams, Max Denard, Liam Grice; sister, Frankie Eubanks, Murfreesboro, TN; niece, Debbie Eubanks; and nephew, David Eubanks.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 30, 2025 at 2 o'clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Tom Stradley and Rev. Eddie Caine will officiate. Interment will follow in the Amicalola Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 4 until 8 and Thursday from 12 noon until 2 at the funeral home.
