John Raymond Reeder, aged 73, passed away at his home on September 19, 2024, in Bowling Green, KY after a two year battle with cancer. Born on April 6, 1951,
Johnny dedicated much of his life to education and the betterment of young minds. He began his career in insurance sales, which he left to pursue a degree in education from Western Kentucky University. Johnny found his true calling in teaching, spending numerous years as a beloved science teacher at Drake's Creek Middle School.
Johnny was known for his love of the outdoors, often found hunting, fishing, or camping. He cherished time spent with family, his fraternity brothers and was passionate about gardening and caring for his various pets throughout the years.
He leaves behind his children: Kelly James (Chad), Kristy Crouch (Gordon), and John Reeder; his mother, Lola Baker; his sister, Judy Maier (Kurt); his grandchildren, Riley, Jake, Claire, Jameson, and Graeme; and his best friend and brother from another mother, Tommy Runner (Denise) - who will all miss him deeply.
A visitation and memorial service to honor Johnny's life will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at Cone Funeral Home, 1510 Campbell Lane, Bowling Green, KY 42104. Visitation will be from 1-4:30 with a Memorial Service following from 4:30-5 pm CT.
