Johnny Pierce Smith

Johnny Pierce Smith, age 91, passed away Thursday, May 8, 2025. Services will held at 12 noon Monday, May 12th at the chapel of Moores Funeral Home with Rev. John Johnson and Rev. Jerry Bradley officiating. Burial will follow at the Culverton Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Smith was born in Hancock County, Georgia on March 27, 1934, to the late Roy Smith and Vivian Askew Smith.
He was a graduate of Sparta High School. He worked for the Georgia Department of Transportation for over 34 years. He was preceded in death by a sister Vivian Jean Roberts and a brother Roy M. Smith. He was a member Island Creek Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and Treasurer for many years. He was a member of the Board of Directors.
Survivors include his wife Alice Pounds Smith of Sparta, his daughter Debbie Williams (Edward)of Macon, two grandchildren Alison Wallace (Dave) and Edward L. Williams, IV (Elizabeth) one great granddaughter Lennon Wallace.
The family will receive friends Monday from 11:00 until 12 noon at Moores Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Island Creek Baptist Church c/o Ann Yearwood 55 Ramling Rose Dr., Sparta, GA 31087.
