Johnny Franklin Towler, age 72, of
Dacula, Georgia, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2025. Born on December 18, 1952, in
Dacula, Georgia, Johnny lived a life rooted in faith, family, and a passion for all things fast and mechanical.
Johnny was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He is survived by his loving wife of many years, Susan Towler, who was not only his partner in life but the center of his world. Johnny cherished Susan deeply and made it known to all how proud he was to share his life with her. Together, they built a home filled with love, laughter, and strong Christian values.
He was a proud and loving father to Tara Towler-Cumby (Nicholas), Johnny "Franklin" Towler (Jennifer), and Kristen Di Felice (Marino). Johnny's joy multiplied as he became "Pa" to Johnny "JJ" Towler, Jacob Towler, Gabriel Di Felice, Michael Di Felice, Grace Di Felice, Jackson Cumby, and Sebastian Cumby. His grandchildren were the lights of his life, and he delighted in spending time with them-whether working in the garage, talking about life, or simply enjoying their presence. He poured wisdom, faith, and humor into every moment with his family.
He is also survived by nieces Stacy Carter, Tammy Nash, and Heather Heard; as well as Kelly Nash and Jordan Ash; nephews Jody Parr, Daniel Nash, and Josh Nash; his brother-in-law Billy "Joe" Parr; and his brother John Towler and sister-in-law Claudine Towler of Belgium. Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, John Lee and Johnnie Bell Towler, and his sister, Dorothy "Dot" Parr.
Johnny spent much of his career at Lucent Technologies and later operated his own hot rod shop, where he combined his love of cars with his entrepreneurial spirit. He was especially passionate about the three Cs-Cars, Corvettes, and Christmas. During the holidays his home became a wonderland of joy and tradition.
A lifelong Southern Baptist, Johnny lived boldly for Christ, witnessing to others until the very end. His faith was his foundation, and his love for the Lord was evident in his words and actions. He found strength and purpose in scripture, especially Proverbs 3:5–6: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."
Above all, Johnny will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his deep devotion to his wife, and the way he made everyone feel valued and welcomed. He was the kind of man who never met a stranger, who prayed with and for those around him, and who taught by example-always putting God and family first.
A Funeral Service Honoring the Life of Johnny will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Tom M. Wages Lawrenceville Chapel, with interment to follow at Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 16th, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location.
