Jolyne Wegner, 79, Alfred, ND died Wednesday August 28, 2024 at Eventide @ Hi-Acres in Jamestown.
Jolyne Ann Walker was born May 1, 1945 at Courtenay, ND, the daughter of Joe and Gladys (Backer) Walker. She attended school at Courtenay and graduated from Courtenay High school in 1963. From 1963 – 1966 she worked at DePuy Sorkness Clinic in Jamestown, as a lab tech.
Jolyne and Thomas Wegner were married March 18, 1966 at Courtenay, ND. They made their home on the Farm at Alfred. In 1970 they had a son Todd and in 1973 a daughter Christi Jo, her family was everything to her. Tom and Jolyne were married and farmed together for 64 years.
Jolyne was a member of the Grace Baptist Church in Gackle, a member of the Gleaners and loved finding ministers for the church. She was always ready for a good cup of coffee and a visit, and you never left her home hungry. She enjoyed watching rodeos and game shows, with Steve Harvey being her favorite. She had a love of flowers and grew many at the farm. She was a devoted mother and grandmother; her family was her everything and she will be deeply missed by all.
Jolyne is survived by her husband Tom Wegner, Alfred, ND; daughter Christi Jo (Troy) Nelson, Gackle, ND; 3 grandchildren, Janessa Marie (Samuel) Bondy, Fargo, ND, Maranda Jo (Ryan) Schlenker, Jud, ND, and Devin Thomas Nelson, Fargo, ND; 1 great granddaughter, Blair Ryan Schlenker; 1 brother-in-law, Tim (Colleen) Wegner, Minneapolis, MN and 1 sister-in-law, Jean Johnson, Jamestown, ND.
She was preceded in death by her beloved son Todd, 2010, parents, Joe and Gladys, sister, Elaine, brothers, Joe and George, infant sister, Eileen, mother and father-in-law, Alma and Christ Wegner, 2 brothers-in law, Hans Johnson and Allyn Grahn.
