Born in North Adams, MA on August 17, 1967, he was the son of Judith Bard Kogut and John Canale.
He was educated in North Adams and Pittsfield schools, graduating from Pittsfield High School in 1985.
Mr. Canale was a printer for many years at Interprint and held various manufacturing positions before his retirement.
Jon was a huge Seattle Seahawks fan, he loved reminiscing about his fishing trips to Pulaski, NY with his friends and adored talking and sharing photos of his cat, Mina, who was his world.
Jon is survived by his mother, Judith Kogut of Ft. Pierce, Florida; father, John Canale and his wife, Beverly of Clarksburg; his sister, Jill Lampro of Pittsfield; his twin brother, Jay Canale and his wife Patricia of Pittsfield. He also leaves behind two nieces, Amanda El Khatib, her husband Ahmad, and their daughter Yara, and Allyson Canale; and two nephews, Dylan Lampro and Dalton Lampro. He also leaves his brother in-law Jody Lampro.
Though Jon has left this world, his spirit remains in every story shared and every memory cherished. He will be missed beyond measure by all those who knew him and called him son, brother, and friend.
Funeral Notice: Calling hours will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St, Pittsfield. A funeral home service will follow at 3 p.m., officiated by Rev. William Mulholland. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his name to the Berkshire Humane Society in care of Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St, Pittsfield, MA 01201.
