Jon Dennis Comp passed away peacefully November 21, 2025, at Diversicare of Council Grove. He was born on March 2, 1938. Jon was born in the family house on the farm to Everett and Reba (Worley) Comp. Jon was the third-generation dairy farmer, he worked along the side of his father learning the traits of the dairy farm growing up and was able to get his first Jersey calf at the young age of 13 years old. He graduated from White City High School in 1956. In 1960, Jon joined the Army and served our country for 6 years and was honorably discharged in 1966. Jon married his wife of 63 years Juanita K. Groundwater on Aug 5, 1962. From this union they had two children, Christine and Dwayne.Jon enjoyed working on his dairy farm for over 50 years. After selling his prize registered Jersey cows he went on to help his community by working for the county grading roads. Jon enjoyed this humble job for 10 years until his health started to decline. Jon also enjoyed lending a helping hand to any and all that was in need. After retiring from the county, Jon found his passion of restoring John Deere tractors and went on to compete in several tractor pulls where he won numerous trophies and ribbons. Jon loved his John Deere tractors, country music, dancing and being ornery.Jon is proceeded in death by his parents Everett and Reba Comp, brother Leslie and wife Fay, and a nephew. Jon is survived by his loving wife Juanita, daughter Christine and husband Jeff May of Salina, Kansas, Dwayne and wife Melissa Comp of Spearman, Texas, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A Celebration Of Life will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026 at 11:00 am at the White City Methodist Church.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Diversicare for the Hospice Care Wing, Dickinson County Home Health or White City Methodist Church. They may be sent in care of Sawyer Funeral Home, PO Box 273, Council Grove, KS 66846
