Jon Harmer Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Kalkaska Funeral & Cremation Services on Nov. 28, 2023.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jon Floyd Harmer, affectionately known as "Re-Re," who left this world on Saturday, November 25, 2023, at the age of 68. Jon was born on December 13, 1954, in Yale, Michigan, to the late Robert and Marguerite (Duequette) Harmer. Jon was a devoted family man; his commitment was evident in every aspect of his life. On July 25, 2003, he married Veronica Ann Harmer. Jon was a very hard-working man; he was a tool & die maker by trade. Aside from the satisfaction that came with Jon's work, he was able to make lifelong connections and friends wherever he was working at. In his free time, he loved sports and took great joy in cheering on his grandchildren during their sporting events, no matter the weather. Jon loved both fishing and hunting throughout the changing seasons. The annual camping trips to Otsego Lake became a cherished tradition, creating lasting memories with his loved ones. One of Jon's favorite pastimes was exploring with his wife using a metal detector. When celebrating holidays, Jon very much enjoyed the holiday feasts. Jon will be lovingly remembered by his wife Veronica; son Tony (Jill) Harmer; daughters Tonya (Sam) Scott, Marie Kinsler (Stoney Schram); grandchildren Quentin, Stoney Wayne III and Ella; siblings Renne (Cliff) Hastings, Penny Simpson, Robert (Cheryl) Harmer, many nieces, nephews and cousins; and KiKi his 19-year-old cat. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Michael Harmer. Arrangements have been entrusted to Kalkaska Funeral Home.
