Jon N. Hasselman, 87, of Loyalsock Twp., passed away at The Gatehouse on Sept. 21, 2025.

He was born in Ridgeway, Pa. on March 14, 1938, a son of John C. and Teresa (Di Bello) Hasselman. He moved from Emporium to Williamsport in 1942; while growing up he was involved in the Boy Scouts and became an Eagle Scout. Jon was a 1956 graduate of Williamsport High School and for 10 years he attended Lycoming College night classes until he graduated in 1973. While raising a family and attending classes, he worked at the former Sylvania in Loyalsock Twp., then Young Industries followed by Bailey Controls and retired from the accounting department at Williamsport Municipal Water Authority in 2003.

He was an active member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, volunteered at many church activities.

His wife of 47 years, the former Barbara A. Wilson, died on March 8, 2007. Surviving are their children and their families; Jon M. (Wenda) Hasselman of Williamsport, Tanya L. Harvey (Therase Corona) of South Williamsport, Terry A. Hasselman of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Jeffrey R. Hasselman (Valerie) of Williamsport; grandchildren, Justin R. Hasselman, Corey L. Hesdon (C.J.), and Jocelyn M. Hasselman; three great grandchildren; and a brother, Martin Hasselman (Cheryl) of Ogdensburg.

In addition to his parents and his wife, a granddaughter, Sara E. Hasselman preceded him in death in 2022.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church, 326 Washington Blvd., Williamsport, on Thursday, September 25, 2025.

The family will receive friends and family at the church on Thursday from 10 to 10:45 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial contributions be made in Jon's name to Susquehanna Health Foundation, 1001 Grampian Blvd., Williamsport, PA 17701 for the benefit of the Gatehouse.
