Jon Urban Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Beinhauer Family Funeral Homes - Peters Township - McMurray on Dec. 30, 2025.
On Sunday, December 28, 2025, Jon-David "Jon" Urban passed away peacefully with loved ones by his side.
A Pittsburgh native, Jon was a graduate of Upper St. Clair High School; he would later raise his family in the same town he grew up in. He went on to attend the University of Dayton, where he made some of his best memories. From playing intramural basketball, to surviving off of day-long stays at all-you-can-eat buffets, to living in a run-down house with his best friends, Jon loved being a Flyer.
After graduating, he moved to Chicago, where he would go on to meet his wife Connie. The pair met while working supplemental jobs at local restaurant Superrosa, where Jon's brother George was their boss. The couple often went to bet horses at the Arlington Race Track, the place where they would later go on to get engaged.
They came to Pittsburgh to start their family, welcoming Natalie a year after they got married and Jack four years later. Above all else, Jon loved being a father, supporting his children by sitting through Natalie's hours-long mock trials, coaching Jack's basketball teams, and attending every golf match for both his kids, among countless other things.
Jon's best friend was his brother George. The pair worked together for the last thirty years, expanding their family business through early mornings at client sites and weekends in the lab.
A big part of Jon's life was watching sports with his family. He raised his kids to be Pittsburgh sports fans and especially rooted for Pitt basketball and football. On any given Sunday, you could find Jon on the golf course with his kids, where he taught them how to play.
He also loved live music - any city he and Connie found themselves in, he'd always look to see who was playing in town. Natalie will always treasure the time she saw Stevie Nicks with her dad, and Jack loved rocking out to Counting Crows with him.
He is survived by wife Connie, daughter Natalie, and son Jack; mother Dawn; father George (Gloria); brother George (Michelle); nephew Max; and many other loving family members & friends.
He is preceded in death by grandparents George and Freida Urban and Steve and Marie Hollis; aunt Emily Hunter; uncle Steve Hollis; aunt Donna Milchalk; and mother-in-law Norma Perez, who is probably cooking him his favorite rice and beans right now (minus the beans, add ham).
Jon will be sorely missed, and while his family is devastated, they are also comforted knowing he is now at peace. If you find yourself at a casino, consider playing number 18 for Jon.
Family and friends are welcome at Beinhauer Funeral Home in McMurray on Friday, January 2, 2026, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. A mass will be held at Jon's alma mater St. Louise de Marillac Church on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. The family asks that everyone please meet at the church.
