My wife Marisol and I first met Jon when we were having dinner at Berrets in the early 2010s. He was there playing the blues with Tom Dikon. We kept up, and got to know each other better at the weekly jazz session at Cogan's. One thing led to another, and finally Jon was a frequent player in jams on our back porch. Finally, we had just this year grown a band from those jams, a band that sadly Jon will never play in.
We'll miss his always cheerful and upbeat demeanor. Even in recent times there was a note of optimism and hope. In his name we'll keep that spirit alive, and think of that grace in our own times of trouble. He will always be an inspiration in music and in life.

I was so saddened to hear the news of Jon´s passing. I met Jon 5 or 6 years ago at the bi-weekly jazz jams at Cogan´s Deli in Newtown and found that we both shared the distinction of being true jazz guitar geeks. It was always a treat to talk guitar and music with him during these sessions. Jon was such a genuinely warm and friendly person and had a great sense of humor. I also enjoyed our getting together in our "back porch jams" that grew out of the Cogan´s gathering with several other of the participants. Miss you Jon. Rest in peace my friend.
