In memory of
Rosalie Manley
April 2, 2016
Remembering Jon and the amazing life he had! My thanks to Jon for his inspiration and encouragement in my own family genealogy research. When I thought I would not find anything, I remember Jon's encouraging words "somebody knows something". I have learned a lot on my genealogical research path. As Jon would say, "It's the journey and those Ah Ha moments" that bring immeasurable joy, meaning and purpose to the whole process.
In closing I would like to share two quotes in memory of Jon:
How very softly you tiptoed into our world, almost silently, only a moment you stayed. But what an imprint your footsteps have left upon our hearts~ Dorothy Ferguson
While we are mourning the loss of our friend, others are rejoicing to meet him behind the veil.~ John Taylor
Jon, as an original member of our poker club, your spiritual presence at our game will always be welcomed! Also, some spiritual guidance on a winning hand is much appreciated!!! : )
In memory of my friend Jon, who I look forward to meeting again! ---Rosalie Manley

Dear Karen,
We are saddened to learn of Jon's passing.
Deepest condolences to you and family. Our
thoughts go in your direction.
So many pleasant memories of Jon from the
day's we were high school friends in Beeville. As a Navy child who had moved
frequently, he was friendly and outgoing.
When his family was transferred to the
Naval Air Station he developed a strong
bond with South Texas and his friends there, and he always kept in touch.
Jon, we will miss you!
With Blessings and Love,

My Dad was a complicated man but he loved deeply and would do anything for a friend in need. I have learned so much from him and though most did not truly know him, those who did knew a man who had suffered greatly, but loved even more. I will do my best to live my life in a way that continues to make him proud and ask only one thing of all of you -- when you can't, forgive. When you won't, forgive. When you refuse to, forgive. I love you, Dad.

Jon, my friend, will remain one of the most unusual and exciting men I've had the privilege of calling "Friend". My first introduction to him was in a Writer's Critique group at ALIR. Then, I became aware of his career in the movie theater industry. His contributions and support of John Santikos (and the development of the Santikos Theater chain) was entertaining, exciting, and unexpected! His belief system was something he lived his life through and was reflected in everything he did. We may not have him with us in this physical reality, but we will forever have his spirit. We love you, Jon. And thank you, again, for the Amtrak Engineer's hat!

I always remember Jon from high school. He was always friendly and nice. I would consider him a friend. I am saddened to learn of his passing. May God give him peace and rest well earned. My prayers are with the family that they may find strength at a time of personal loss. God bless you.

Jon was the one cousin that got all of us back together again after many years of busy lives. Each reunion was so much fun and a time for sharing memories and pictures. He would be happy to know we will continue these reunions in his memory. He is now with more cousins than he left here!
