I loved making music with Jonathan. My first memory was listening to him audition for the orchestra. He was so very talented.

I always enjoyed Jonathan as a student in orchestra at Tecumseh. He often raised the most interesting questions in class. I gave playing tests after school usually and one day Jonathan came in for his test and only had his violin, no music. I said Jonathan, how are you going to take the test without your music? He said, well I know most of it. I thought, really, Ok, well start at letter C in some piece - I don't remember what it was but Jonathan did and played it perfectly. Every time I quizzed him he had it just fine. I was amazed. Not only did he know the music but the rehearsal letters. I also tested him for perfect pitch and he could tell me every pitch I gave. He will be sorely missed.
