Jonathan Leo Bokay, 43, Wathena, Kansas, lost his battle with sarcoma on Thursday, January 8, 2026.

He was born January 27, 1982 to Joseph F. and Dorothy R. (Miller) Bokay in St. Joseph, Missouri.

Jonathan married Abbey L. Pendleton on September 10, 2011.

Jonathan loved his family more than anything. His friends were a close second. He wanted everyone to know that he did not regret a single second of his life, for all of his choices led him to a life full of love beyond measure.

Taking care of his family was a cornerstone of his life. He wanted to be remembered as a decent carpenter, a good husband, and a great dad.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Bokay and Ruthie Whisler.

Survivors include his wife, Abbey; sons, Jude and Jax; siblings, Nathan Bokay (Becky), Mara Pierce (Kyle), Amanda Cihak (Jeff), Kristy Francis (Rod Muff), and Robin Keller; stepmother, Paula Bokay; stepfather, Richard Whisler; mother-in-law, Jerri Pendleton; father-in-law, Chuck Pendleton; nieces and nephews, Eli, Olivia, Owen, Avery, Blayce, Teahen, Aubrey, Morgan, Chase, and Maddie; numerous extended family and friends.

Rosary 4:30 P.M. Friday, January 16, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. The family will gather with friends 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Friday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Fight Dirty Foundation. Online guest book and obituary at www.meierhoffer.com.
