Jonathan Franklin Carter, 39 of Lynchburg, formally of Bedford, passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2026. He was born in Bedford, VA on June 11, 1986. A son of Kathy Catron Havens and the late Ronald Davis “Ronnie” Carter. In addition to his dad, Jonathan was predeceased by his Maternal Grandfather and his best friend, Buford Catron, Paternal Grandparents, Hazel and Luther Carter.
Jonathan loved NASCAR and was a huge fan of Kevin Harvick. He also enjoyed gaming, good food, the Houston Texans Football, Rock-N-Roll music, especially Metallica. He also enjoyed a good meal and spending time with his family and friends. Jonathan was dearly loved by his family and will be missed in the days ahead.
Jonathan is survived by his maternal grandmother, Mollie Catron; mother, Kathy Catron Havens and her husband, Larry; daughter, Eleanor Ann; brother, Shannon Carter; stepbrother, Justin Havens and his wife, Katie; stepsister, Erica Minnix and her husband, Glenn; stepmother, Rickie Carter; two special nieces, Destiny Carter (Vincent Parks) and Sydney Carter. Also surviving are numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
