Jonathan Walter Dodd

Jonathan Walter Dodd, age 43, of Blairsville Georgia, passed away suddenly on September 23, 2025. He was formerly a resident and native of Buford Georgia, where he graduated from North Gwinnett High School. Affectionately known as Jon, he had a quick wit about him and always enjoyed making people smile and laugh. He rarely met a stranger; he worked at Nalley's in Buford Georgia for many years and made so many new friends during that time. His customers loved going in and chatting with Jon who was always quick to make them smile and bring them into his world. He spoke fondly of so many of his customers. He enjoyed hearing about their adventures, and he was always concerned about any struggles they shared, even though he had his own struggles too. Jon dearly loved his nieces and nephews and enjoyed spending time with them and buying them gifts. He also adored his cat "KitKat". Anyone who knew Jon well, knew his hobby was computers and tech, and his passions were gaming and Chinese food, and he always had a funny YouTube video to share. While we cherish the happy memories of Jon, our knowledge that Jon knew Jesus as his Savior gives us comfort and peace. Jon has now experienced the ultimate healing. He is reunited with his parents; they were always worried about who would watch out for him when they were gone. His sister, Loretta, whom he lovingly always called "Sister", stepped in, even when it was difficult with Jon's health declining, and took such wonderful care of him. Jon was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry and Joyce Dodd, grandparents, Jairus and Ophie Dodd, Henry and Bessie Taylor and his beloved boyhood babysitter, "Nanny" Lessie Clayton. He is survived by his brother, Joe (Anita) Dodd, sister, "Sister" Loretta (Mike) Nesbit; nephews and nieces, Marshall Hooper, Whitney (Mark) Hanson, Corey (Ashley) Hooper, Ashley Nesbit, Taylor (Brooke) Dodd; great nephews and nieces, Preston Hooper, Juiana Hanson, Cassadi Bridwell, Lucy Hanson, Jedidiah Hooper, Everly Hooper, Liberty Hooper, Lily Allen; several uncles, aunts and cousins. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the North Gwinnett Coop in memory of Jonathan Dodd.
