Jonathan “Chad” Grant, age 40 of Chattanooga, passed away at Erlanger Hospital on Saturday, November 8, 2025. He was born in Chattanooga on May 18, 1985, the son of Bobby and Johnnie (Minnis) Grant of Chattanooga, who both survive him.
Chad lived most of his life in Chattanooga and was employed as a carpenter with his dad. He was a big Alabama fan and enjoyed riding Harley motorcycles, hunting, and fishing. He loved his family and attended Philadelphia Baptist Church in Chattanooga.
In addition to his parents, Chad is survived by his daughter, Alexis (Taylor) Swanson of Dayton; his sons, Skylar and Jaxon Grant of Ringgold, Georgia; his brother, Brad Grant of Chattanooga; and his sister, Batina (Frankie) Lowe of Harrison.
Funeral services for Chad will be in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at 12:00 noon with Pastor Todd Poteet officiating. He will be laid to rest with his family at Rhea Memory Gardens in Dayton.
Memorial contributions may be made toward his cemetery memorial headstone at Vanderwall Funeral Home, PO Box 148, Dayton, TN 37321.
