Jonathan Mather

Jonathan Mather-devoted father, healer, and master craftsman-passed away on February 24, 2026, at the age of 73 leaving a legacy as textured and enduring as the wood he shaped. Born in Portland, Oregon, in the spring of 1952 to Charles and Betty Mather, Jonathan lived a life defined by intentionality, adventure, and a relentless curiosity about the human spirit.

A true Renaissance man, Jonathan's hands were rarely still. As a master woodworker, he found beauty in the grain; as a Naturopathic Doctor specializing in Chinese Medicine, he found balance in the body. He was a philosopher who didn't just think deeply but wrote and lived his truths in the great outdoors. He was loud, spontaneous, and unapologetically himself-a man who wasn't always easy, but whose friendship was a profound gift to those who knew him.

He is survived by the mother of his children, Patricia Mather; his three sisters, Sarah Rehwalt, Kathleen Biddle, and Gaia Mather; and his six of his seven children, who carry forward his adventurous spirit: Miranda, *Mariya*, Sonora, Melanaea, Jonan, Cascade, and Gabreal. Jonathan's path was wide, his heart was giving, and his presence was truly invigorating.
