Jonathan Overton

Jonathan Overton was born in Chicago, Illinois on November 20, 1948 to Jacqueline Overton (Deceased) and Henry Holman (Deceased). Jon was proceeded in death by his wife, Petri Overton. Jonathan accepted Christ as his personal Savior through Come Alive Ministry of Faith. Jon has two children, Christopher Overton (Amber Overton) and Dana Cummins (Terry Cummins). Jon has four sisters: Stephanie Mayfield and Theodora Bell (Both preceded him death), Victoria Overton, and Novi Overton. Jon leaves cherished memories with his God daughter Aruna Holmes and his grandchildren: Chevel Deaton, Quiana Perry, Christopher Overton, Cinai Overton, Kilian DeAndre Overton-Malena, Jazmyne Noah, Khamani Noah, Amarien Roland, and Taylor Cummins. He also leaves behind a host of nephews and nieces who he loved dearly.
Jon learned early in his life how important education was which led him to ultimately obtaining a Masters Degree in Psychiatric Social Work as well as in Business Administration. Jonathan was a solid entrepreneur who was most well known for his "Just Que" barbecue restaurants in Chicago, Illinois. He was a timeless mentor and community and civil rights activists in the Chicago area. Jonathan was truly loved and was a pillar to the Overton & Gibson family and he will be forever missed.
