Jonathan Mathew Placek

Jonathan Mathew Placek, 63, of Aurora, Ohio passed away peacefully on September 14, 2025. He was born on January 30, 1962, in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Joseph Patrick Placek II & Sheila Kathleen Placek (nee Devlin).

Jonathan will be dearly missed by his family. Beloved brother of Jennifer Polk, Joseph Placek III, Jeff Placek, and Kimberley Placek. Beloved nephew of David Placek and Gary Placek and a host of extended family and dear friends.

Growing up with John was always an adventure, with four siblings, there was plenty of fun in the Placek household. John graduated from Aurora High School, then went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Ashland College.

John worked for Design Molded Plastics in Macedonia for 15 years as a Material Handler. In his free time John enjoyed spending time with family in Aurora and cousins in the Cleveland area. In the summertime John would be riding his motorcycle with his cousins and outdoors all weekend enjoying the lovely weather.

John was a very kind person and left a lasting impression on everyone he met, a loyal, responsible person, always ready to offer a helping hand, share a laugh, or be a shoulder to lean on. We will miss John's infectious smile and quick wit that could light up any room.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, from 4:00 – 7:00 pm at Crown Hill Funeral Home, 8592 Darrow Road, Twinsburg, Ohio 44087. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 342 S Chillicothe Road, Aurora, Ohio 44202.
