Jonathan Ronson

Jonathan Robert Ronson, 69, of Albany, New York, slipped peacefully into the arms of Jesus on May 23, 2025, in Albany, NY.

Born February 18, 1956, in Tarrytown, NY, he was the son of the late Robert and June Ronson, of Middletown, NY.

Jon attended Nyack Missionary College before settling in the Capital District as a property manager, followed by many years as a family court security officer in Albany County.

The true love of his life was his church family, so we share our sorrow with his many brothers and sisters at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Colonie. The enduring and deep love shown by these friends was ever-present, whether in triumph or defeat.

Jon will long be remembered for his faith in Christ manifested through memory of scripture, which he revered. Every encounter spent with Jon was sprinkled with humor, a legacy that seemed to entertain him the most.

Jon is survived by siblings Roberta Hoyt (David) of Middletown, NY, David Ronson (Cora Emily), of Port Jervis, NY, and Elisabeth LaPierre (Bruce) of Maplecrest, NY. Jon was blessed to be an uncle to Nathan, Jennifer, Kate, Kelly, Dan, Laura, and Kyle. He also was a great-uncle to twelve great-nephews and great-nieces.

A memorial service will be held at Our Savior’s Lutheran on Aug 27 at 11:00 AM.
