It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Jonathan Ruiz a devoted father and beloved husband, left us unexpectedly February 14, 2026, Los Alamos, New Mexico. Born on August 1986, in Compton, California, his journey through life was characterized by a profound love for his family, especially wife, Cassey, with whom shared nearly 20 years, and their four cherished children, Nathan, Nataly, Ilani, and Ilara.
He was a man found true joy in simple yet beautiful spent at home after long days working construction, nothing brought him more happiness than returning to the warmth and laughter of his children. It was those treasured memories of their excited faces waiting for him, the joyful noise filling their home, and the countless adventures they shared that he held closest to his heart. His laughter and spirit created an incredible bond, one that will continue to resonate with his family forever.
A young, adventurous soul at heart, Jonathan loved mountain biking with his friends in Angel Fire, always seeking the thrill of the trails. His adventures provided him with stories he loved to share, and these moments became part of the vibrant tapestry of his life.
His parents, Gildardo Ruiz Bustamante and Armida Calderon, along with his siblings, Nubia Calderon (Raul Nunez), Gildardo Ruiz (Noelia Rodriguez), Amara, Irazema, Berenice, Maria Esther, Gildardo, Julian, Gildardo Jr. , carry forward his spirit and the memories of a man who loved deeply. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and an extended circle of family and friends who were touched by his kindness and light.
A Rosary will be held on February 26, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Rivera Family Funeral & Cremations of Santa Fe, followed by visitation until 8:00 PM. A Mass in honor of Jonathan will take place the following day, February 27, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Our Lady Of Guadalupe, also in Santa Fe.
