Jonathan Atienza Velasco, 61, passed away Tuesday, November 18, 2025, in Southaven, MS. No services will be held at this time. Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven is in charge of arrangements.
Jonathan was known for his ever-present smile and his love of karaoke, one of his favorite pastimes. He was a loyal friend-someone others could always count on. He shared a special bond with his niece, Jessica Berry, to whom he was a devoted uncle, and he cherished his family deeply, especially his grandchildren.
Jonathan is survived by his wife, Sherri Ligon of Byhalia, MS; stepchildren, James Ligon, Alicia Burkes and her husband Jeremy, and Cindy Ligon; grandchildren, Kimberly Manley, Amber Smith, Gavin Ligon, and Ruby Ligon; and his siblings, Jocelyn Wallace (Richard), Jason Velasco, Lee Velasco, and Lou Velasco.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Romeo Garcia Velasco and Gloria Atienza Velasco.
