Joni Lynn (Summers) Jackson, 63, of Colby, KS passed away on Saturday, November 1, 2025.
Joni was born on September 1, 1962, in WaKeeney, KS, to William Eugene and Karen Grace (Sandlin) Summers. She graduated from Colby High School with the Class of 1980. On February 19, 1982, she was united in marriage to Gary Wade Jackson in Colby, KS.
Joni was a devoted homemaker and worked in a variety of service-related jobs throughout her life. Joni had a beautiful singing voice and sang in her dad’s band Country Time. She was also an excellent cook and baked and decorated the most beautiful cakes. She loved creating things and enjoyed doing needlework and paper crafts.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; sister, Darla Summers; uncles, Arlen, Gary and Curtis Sandlin; cousin, Jeff Sandlin.
She is survived by her husband, Gary Jackson; daughter, Jeannie (Ben) Schroeder of Brewster, KS; grandchildren Douglas Jackson Bird and Grace Lorraine Schroeder; sister, Shelly (Rod) Rodenbeck of Colby, KS; nephew, Russell Rodenbeck of Colby, KS; aunt Kathie Sandlin of Longmont, CO: uncle, Steve Sandlin of Vancouver, WA; sisters-in-law, Roycelyn Jackson and Tina Bryant and their families; cousins, Carolyn Flood of Fletcher, OK, Laura Rodriguez Sandlin of Cedar Crest, NM, Chris Sandlin of Topeka, KS, Jaime Richardson of Ness City, KS and Robert Sandlin of Olathe, KS and their respective families. She leaves behind two beloved grandchildren. Though our hearts are broken we take comfort that she is in no more pain or struggles. Her love for others will carry her to heaven where she can watch over us who love her dearly.
