Jordan Bryant McCrary, born on December 26, 1985, passed away on January 16, 2026. He was known for his compassion, relentless passion for advocating for those wronged, and his great sense of humor. Friends and family will remember him for his unwavering commitment to helping others.
A devoted and avid reader, Jordan took joy in sharing knowledge and supported students through tutoring in many subjects. His heart especially went out to the homeless community, and he actively volunteered his time at Feed My Sheep and the Salvation Army, showcasing his dedication to making a difference in the lives of others. Music was another significant aspect of his life, with a particular love for playing the piano and often performing the music of Ben Folds. His sense of humor was grand; he had a particular affection for George Karlin comedy.
Jordan is survived by his loving parents, Dr. Richard Bryant McCrary and Margaret Elaine McCrary, as well as his siblings, Dr. Jeffrey Barrett McCrary (Dr. Sara Jane McCrary), and Sean Olsen McCrary. His legacy will be carried on by his nieces and nephew, Lissa, Jane, Kate, Molly, and Brooks McCrary, along with his aunts and uncles, Olaf Olsen (Valerie), Robert McCrary (Stella), Missy Gray, Tommy McCrary (Valerie), and Michael McCrary (Anne). He also leaves behind numerous cousins and extended family.
Jordan was preceded in death by his sister, Courtney Leigh McCrary; his maternal grandparents, Elaine and Olaf Olsen; his paternal grandparents, Dr. Robert McCrary and Mary Elizabeth McCrary; and uncles Jeff Gray, Donald McCrary, and Robert Nockton.
A gathering to honor Jordan's life will be held for family and friends on January 22, 2026, from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM at the Riemann Family Funeral Home located at 11280 Three Rivers Rd, Gulfport, MS 39503.
Private services will be held and entombment will be in Lakelawn Metairie Cemetery in Louisiana.
