I knew Jorge (or Jorgie-Boy as I called him) for 30 years, and felt blessed that I did for every day during those 30 years. We met at Fox-11, I was an intern and Jorge and Rod Cohen had just started working there. We would go on to work together off and on for the next 30 years, and even when we didn't work together, we always stayed in touch. Jorge and I attended dozens and dozens of USC football games together, often standing on the sidelines while we pretended to work, but were really there just to root for our alma mater. Jorge was the nicest guy you would ever meet. I know people say that, but in Jorge's case, it really was true.
I'll miss the time we spent together, often laughing and sometimes crying together (Jorge loved the Dolphins, but as the song says, "the Dolphins always make me cry", which was often the case with Jorge).
When it came to work, Jorge was the guy you wanted next to you in the foxhole. He could always be counted on, and was one of the best writers (if not the best) that I ever worked with.
I'll miss you buddy, but can't wait to see you on the other side. I'm crushed

I only meet Jorge one time. But, I knew his brother Alberto very through a mutual friend, Patricia Serenbetz.
Once again the circle of life has been completed.

I loved Jorge's dry, quick humor and just his easy, going approach to things. The van ride in Mexico will always standout. He was sitting in the back while the three siblings were all in the front carrying on about something. I looked at Jorge and asked "what is wrong with them?!?" He looked right at me and quickly, matter of fact said "they're all nuts" and went back to looking out the window! I laughed so hard.
So thankful I had the chance to know him. Praying for peace and strength for all that loved him so very much.
